A Stroll on Black Basalt Beach

Krystal woke up before everyone and decided to go out for a stroll on the beach. It was a nice spring day, a bit cloudy but warm enough to wear her knit, lace and cotton dress. She had inherited it from her mother and had transformed it to make it much shorter. She liked her dresses to be cut high above the knee. She grabbed her favorite black felt hat and put on her sunglasses. She loved those Lennon style round specs she had bought for almost nothing at the flea market. She was going to need them. Her eyes were still tired from the late night party. She hesitated for a moment between high heeled sandals and a pair of boots and, without too much thinking, opted for the good old comfortable leather and wool boots. She glanced at her reflexion in the mirror of the room, smiled, satisfied with her looks, and walked on tip toes to the doorway. Once on the beach, she walked, sat for a while, feeling the warm breeze on her face and her legs, watching the waves roll and clash, listening to the sea, the seagulls, the smell of the sea filling her nostrils. She closed her eyes, forgot about everything and became one with the nature around her.

A Field Trip Day at Basilique Town

Today, Krystal got out of the dark classes of college to go on a study trip day at Basilique Town. Her goal for the day is to study the architecture and art of the city, but she takes advantage of the occasion to enjoy some alone time in the streets of the beautiful city and suck in some sunshine in this beautiful spring day. She decided to wear her silver shirt dress, black sweater and tie, after all she’s on a study trip, it’s not a vacation. She brought some color to her outfit thanks to her make up, nail polish and shoes. After having wandered in the city for a while, she gets a bit too hot in her sweater and decides to enter the cathedral for some shade, fresh air as well as to admire the ancient paintings on the walls.

She is pretty impressed by the size and majesty of the building, it’s sober and elegant style and decides to take a few pictures with her phone. While she’s at it, she takes a selfie that she posts on social medias right away, with a comment: “Ok this was the fun part of the day, now I gotta get to work, history of art teacher asked paper about the sculpture in the baths for tomorrow, pfffff… :(“.

She sends, leaves the church and starts looking for the public bath building.

The Dark Side of the Moon

Sometimes I just feel dark deep down and I don’t want to see bright colors and happy tones and hear springy bird songs and I just want to stay inside, wrapped in my darkest thoughts, and read stories about love and death, about time passing and the meaning of life and the nonsense of it all.

Those days I turn my back to the sun, close the curtains and light a candle, inventing my own world, my own universe, my own shadows, my own light. And I dream. Sometimes, in my dreams, there are brown horses, deep seas, japanese lovers and sirens. Those are my own personal tales, the ones my mind writes for me after I close my eyes.

Then I wake up and log into Second Life and create my own semi conscious dream. But it’s all linked, each dream follows the previous dream and readings, dreams, SL get mixed and blurred and sometimes I lose myself. So, today, as a result of this whole process, I have decided to take SL pictures where my avatar would be in an empty house, wearing nothing but make up, shoes, a tattoo and lingerie. I would have skipped the lingerie but we’re trying to keep it PG, right ?!

I got distracted, for some reason ^^.

I was supposed to blog something for this challenge every week for a month and I forgot, I skipped a week. But hey. no biggie, right ? 🙂

So, this is the first time ever I try to do pictures with two avatars, I must say I struggled a bit, first because my beloved macbook does not like me to open two Firestorm windows at the same time, I asked for help in the Firestorm support group but the solutions offered on the wiki page they sent me too are a bit too geeky for me, I did try but I’m probably not smart enough because nothing worked. Eventually I used a Firestorm window for one avatar and an Alchemy window for the second, and that did the trick. I will need more training to use the Lumipro for two simultaneous models but I think it’s really interesting, and opens a lot of new possibilities. I had been thinking about modelling two avies for a while, and this is just a first try. I grabbed another old avatar of mine and proceeded to a complete make over, trying to make her look like Krystal but different. And then I thought I was going to use two single poses in the same picture but finally I chose to use a couple pose to show them together. I picked this “Feelings” pose, I think it’s pretty cute 🙂 Also, hairs, skins, clothes all come from Collabor88, except for the shoes that come from The Chapter Four, and Lola’s adorable collar from ON9.

Out of the Blue

Soooo, after a number of attempts to blog my neon blue outfit, here it is, hurrayyy !!! Also, I am playing with a new toy, the Cinematic Hud that you can grab for free at the Chouchou sim, it is really nice, it follows you in a sort of soft slow motion, and frames you like a star, making you feel as if you were taking part of a movie. If you tick the Hud box when you save your picture to disk, you can even take your pictures with the black stripes. Just don’t forget to remove your other huds or put them out of the way. Anyways… I’m done sharing my enthusiasm for photo gadgets for now ^^.

I realised while I was doing the credits for this post that it is an almost head to toe Uber outfit. The hair is from Fameshed but all the rest, clothes, shoes, jewelry is from Uber. Those sandals are cool, by the way, you can customise every part with a choice of a dozen colors. I couldn’t use the rompers before I had the Maitreya Mesh body because my body would stick out in some places but now I have the magic here and there alpha clicks and I can wear everything, Woooot !!!

Also, I discovered Madrid Solo make up and I really like this all face tattoo. I bought another dark gothic one, I will probably build an outfit around it one of these days.

Happy Birthday, Chapter Four !

So I went to The Chapter Four birthday party and I liked what I found there, everything was springy and fresh and I discovered a few brands I did not know yet, like Breathe shoes and Kitja destroyed and cute blue jeans. I got the Rare C’est la Vie bag at the first try in the gacha, woot ^^, and pretty flowers for my hair in another gacha. I love gachas (sometimes). This Nudolu top was just so cute with its embroidered swallow. And I visited The Hydra Isles at Umbral, it is a very nice spot for photography, you’ll see more of it if you just click on the little pictures on the right side of the blog, they’ll take you right to my flickr pages where I always have more pictures than here. Soooo, there were some interesting developments in my freshly started blogger life. I think the most important was to find a solution for my photos. I absolutely love exploring SL, wander around, find a nice location, tune up the graphic settings and shoot my heart’s content. Unfortunately, my beloved Firestorm was letting me down and that was saddening and frustrating. My only computer is a MacBook Air and I LOVE it but it was all a bit too much and I got textures discarded messages and empty shots. That was a big deal. I asked for advice in the *splendid* SL Bloggers Support Group and someone ( I’m sorry I forgot who you are, if you read this, I thank you with all my heart ) told me about the Alchemy Viewer, that is pretty similar to FS but lighter on the machine. I had tried other viewers and they just made me want to cry so I tested Alchemy, did a whole photo shoot with the graphics settings ultra, shadows, antialiasing out there in the wild and it just worked as a charm. So now i use FS  for everything and when I am ready to shoot, I switch to Alchemy and tadaaaaa ! So I am a much happier blogger now 🙂

Phewww, that was some explaining huh, I really needed to get it off my chest.

The other topics are much lighter.

I was having issues when using Lumipro lighting, my hair looked greyish. And today I understood what was happening. It happens with the Mina hair  (which I love) with materials only. If I use the same hair without materials, it does not happen anymore. So YAY 2 blogger problems solved ! \o/

Last topic and then I’ll just flood you with pics and credits

I have been wearing a M shape for  while and I was pretty happy and content with it, and this time I decided to give a try to the L shape. Well, I did not feel so comfortable, and I had a serious hard time adjusting the slink hands and feet. I will return to my M shape and stick with it from now on.

OK, sooooo, back into my comfort zone *snuggles tight in her vintage stuff*

More stuff from Shiny Shabby in this post. Did I mention I *love* Shiny shabby ? 🙂 I also visited No21 and there is some really cool stuff there. I found hair, jewelry and a denim mini skirt by Blueberry ( Lamb hair and Yummy jewelry are featured in this post, *Blueberry mini skirt coming soon*)

I put on this outstanding dress and jeans jacket from E-Clipse (found @ Shiny Shabby) and built the outfit from there. For the photos I went to a place called Virtual Decay that is really awesome if you’re looking for a dark grunge urban environment for your pictures. I am also playing with a new skin and make up from DeeTaleZ *insert happy face* and how cool is this Black Cat Nail Art from ZoZ ? ^^

Going Formal

Soo, I have been offered to blog a formal gown, which is totally out of my comfort zone. But I thought, what the heck, let’s try new things,right? Plus I had been thinking about doing a princess dress photo shoot lately so I gave it a chance. Well, it’s pretty fun to play “Barbie goes to the ball”, even if it’s definitely not what I will do on a daily basis, the challenge was quite interesting and I’m happy I did it 🙂

Soooo… I have a new love… *Hugs her Lumipro tight*… The photo on top is the first photo I took with my  precious, at home… then we went on a honeymoon to the forest and it’s been pure bliss ever since 🙂
